National Interest Waiver for Physicians
Our Chicago immigration lawyers can help foreign physicians who are willing to practice full time in an area designated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services as having a shortage of health care professionals or in a facility operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Such physicians may obtain a waiver of the job offer requirement that applies to noncitizen beneficiaries of the second preference employment-based immigrant visa petitions. Each physician must meet certain requirements in order to receive such waiver. Once the physician has completed the requirements, he or she will receive adjustment to lawful permanent residence status.
- Check if a geographic area is a Physician Scarcity Area (PSA)
- Check if a geographic area is a Medically Underserved Area or if the population is Medically Underserved Population.
If you are a foreign physician who would like to apply for this waiver, call the Chicago National Interest Waiver lawyers of Zneimer & Zneimer P.C. at 773-516-4100 or contact us online for a consultation to discuss your immigration law issues or questions.
